About
I'm Tom Hartley. Forty years on Wall Street, most of them writing the internal market note for a major firm's trading floor. Not the TV guy. The guy the TV guy called.
I'm retired now. But I still read every data release, every Fed transcript, every flow report. Old habits.
How I read the market
The market is a machine. It doesn't react to today's news. It prices the next six to twelve months. Most people see red or green. I see what the market is telling you about the rest of the year.
What you get
Every weekday. Three parts, about two minutes:
- The Close. The numbers. The three I circled. The sectors and the movers.
- What The Market Is Pricing In. The one signal that matters, in plain English.
- What's Next. Three things I'm watching tomorrow, and why.
No weekend editions. Markets are closed, and so am I.
